8:45 - 9:45 Keynote Speaker – Sherri Elliott-Yeary, CEO of Optîmance Workforce Strategies, founder of Gen InsYght and author of “Ties to Tattoos: Turning Generational Differences into a Competitive Advantage.”
As thousands of would-be retirees find it necessary to remain in the workforce because of depleted retirement accounts, another graduating class enters the job market every year. These two factors are creating a clash of the generations, and managing relocation for a multigenerational work force continues to get more and more challenging, For the first time in history, the work force comprises four distinct generations: traditionalists, boomers, Generation Xers and millennials. Each group has a unique perspective on work-life balance that can make structuring a relocation policy challenging. Sherri will talk about those perspectives and how we can deliver a policy that will meet the requirements of each generation.

This afternoon you’ll participate in an interactive session consisting of 7 round tables. All attendees will work together in small groups to get a feel for the relocation experience as a transferee. Attendees will be grouped in families and will visit all seven stations set up to address different pieces of the relocation puzzle. For instance, one table will focus on mortgage/ appraisal, one will cover the home sale and another home finding and so on. The goal of the game is for the “family” to manage their relocation process with the least amount of stress and not totally blow their budget. The family with the most money at the end wins!
